Those of you who have been following me for a while probably know that it's a yearly tradition for me to hold a livestream where I draw holiday icons for free or discounted prices, which you can see work from previous years here (and here, and here, and here, and here... and here)! Sadly, I think this will be the first time I break what's become a 6 year tradition, and I won't be holding a stream this year.

There's a few reasons for this, the main one being that my workplace is undergoing a blackout period this year where employees aren't allowed to request time off for anything that isn't medically necessary. Normally I'd request a few days off from work to hold the stream, which gives me the time I need to recover and decompress post-stream. And while I technically could still hold the stream(s) on a weekend, I'd be headed straight back into work which increases my chance for injury.

The other reasons are that I'm currently recovering from a back injury (sitting for long periods aggravates it), and just generally needing to rest mentally. Holiday icon streams are surprisingly demanding on both a physical and mental level, and I often can't use my hand for a week or two after the stream. The holiday icon stream can also be a source of stress for me- each year more and more folks attend, which while fun, means there's a higher chance someone will go without a free icon. The vast majority of folks are super kind and understanding about this! But there are a few that become visibly upset about drawing the short end of the stick, which is... honestly a bit hard to respond to, especially since it makes other stream-goers uncomfortable.

Hopefully I'll be able to hold the stream per usual next year! Maybe in the meantime I'll hold an icon stream event in the spring or summer? I don't want to make any promises since my health fluctuates, but I like to think I'd have the energy for a seasonal icon stream in the future! In the meantime I appreciate everyone's understanding, and I hope you all have a fun holiday season!

It's time for the announcement you've all been waiting for, the final results for the Fan Art Feature! I apologize for the slight delay, I decided last minute that I wanted to gush about each piece, which took a bit longer to do than I thought it would! This is also a bit of a tangent, but soon I'll be posting pre-order details for the physical book (which is not-for-profit), so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that!

Before we get into it, I actually wanted to make some slight modifications to the prizes- I was astounded by the sheer amount of entries, and had a hard time choosing between a lot of them! So I decided to add a few places (and adjust the prize for 3rd place accordingly). The prizes now are...

1st Place Receives...

- A free physical copy of Born Yesterday

- A free physical copy of Dielle's Wish

- One commission voucher (up to $80)

2nd Place Receives...

- A free physical copy of Born Yesterday

- One commission voucher (up to $50)

3rd Place Receives...

- (NEW) A free physical copy of Born Yesterday - One commission voucher (up to $30)

(NEW) 4th Place Receives...

- A free physical copy of Born Yesterday

(NEW) 5th Place Receives...

- A free physical copy of Born Yesterday

... And any piece that receives a full-page feature will be able to select up to 5 postcard designs from previous Patreon postcards! (And don't worry- all prizes are shipped free of charge, and can ship internationally).

And of course, everyone who participated will get a free digital PDF of the book as well! Digital prizes will be distributed shortly after this announcement (hopefully within 24 hours, but it may be slightly delayed due to work), and winners of physical prizes will be contacted via PM. (Though winners of physical prizes are also welcome to decline them!)

Now without further ado, let's take a look at the Fan Art Feature gallery together!

5th Place - Spiritofrainbursts's A New Dawn AU Fanfic

“Farewell Rune, I would have never made it this far if I hadn’t been blessed with a friend like you. Although the parting hurts…….I……..leave…………..”

The sands of time swirled around the fading Shinx as flashes of blush, celeste , and emerald were swept under the grainy waves below. “No….” thought Rune as she swiftly plummeted back into the past, back to where her nightmares began. “Not now, not when I finally found my way!” Her vision started to slowly fade to black as she pleaded “Please…..I don’t want to be lost!” to no avail, she was already lost once more or so she thought.

A New Dawn (Fanfic in Description)

First up on our winning prizes is for 5th place, the speculated intro Chapter 16: A New Dawn! Y'all I almost screamed when I read this while at work. I wanted to cry. It's already amazing when people predict and theorize how the story will go, but actually seeing it in action is such a wonderful feeling!

No spoilers for how things actually go but I just wanted to say... That two parts of this actually predicted things in the story! I was so excited talking with my partner, I was like "there was a one in million chance. How did they know this." It's amazing, go read it!!

4th Place - GlacialDusk's Journey Recap

Journey Recap

Six points on a Time Gear, six chapters in the first book? Coincidence? I think NOT! But seriously, this is such a cute way to recap the journey so far, and I love the attention to detail here! Skuntank especially looks super good with that fur rendering! And the little hand of the clock pointing to the chapter we're on... Just mwah. Chef's kiss. It's wonderful!

3rd Place - Lt. Luc's Spinning a Yarn

But the headache was made of stone and, no matter how much he focused his senses, they did not so much as scratch it.

There was some relief to be found in Treasure Town, at least. His parents scoffed at ‘civilized’ Pokémon, the reliance on the trappings of their old masters, but they still saw the benefits of medicine and materials one could not forage; for now, they needed something to keep the wet season outside, where it belonged. Whereas the hawking of wares and press of bodies set them on edge, Yochanan found the cacophony soothing, the way it drowned out his own head’s thrum, and so he had taken the role of errand-runner eagerly.

Okay so I'll be the first to admit that prose is not my specialty. It thankfully is something I can avoid while working in comic format, but this piece beautifully captures feelings and emotions that just don't translate the same way into a visual format. And it illustrates such a wonderfully rich backstory for Yohann, who I only ever had vague ideas on regarding his background! It feels like it could be its own special episode!

It was hard choosing just a small excerpt to showcase here, but this is a must-read for those who get the book! The author of this even wrote a wonderfully crafted abridged version of the story for the physical print, without sacrificing the original ideas. The digital PDF of course will be showcasing the story in full!

2nd Place - AbyShad's Fan-Art Cover

On Borrowed Time fan-art cover

Okay WOW I don't even know where to begin with this piece! Art featuring a large cast is already difficult, but this went the extra mile with so many beautiful small details and effects! Between the hatch shading, the various lighting sources, the dynamic posing and oh BOY that ominous red glow on the guildmaster, this piece is a treat for the eyes!

1st Place - Kyrie-Ray

Kyrie-Ray

... And here's the piece that placed in first! If Rune's dream sequence at the start of Chapter 6 was bundled up into one neat little bow, this would be it! Between the beautiful variety of textures, the wonderful use of value to draw your eyes in all those tasty places, and hoo boy those LIGHTNING effects, everything about this piece really conveys that sense of dread and anguish! I want this as a poster on my wall. As my phone's background. I want to eat it. It's simply wonderful.

The entries above placed for prizes and full page features, and now it's time to showcase the other 11 pieces that get full page features! I ended up increasing the amount to 16 overall instead of just 10, because there were just so many wonderful submissions I wanted to show off! Why 11 more instead of 10? Because I ended up having one piece that would have been orphaned by itself on one of the 4x4 pages anyway, so an extra slot opened up! How lucky, it had a 1 in 4 chance of happening!

These aren't ranked in any particular order like the winning submissions, instead grouped by how they'll be placed in the book!

DragonHonor2

DragonHonor2

Some folks think Malachi's got a "runaway prince" vibe, and this really captures that energy! Royal attire would suit him... if he wasn't such a nerd, hehe. I'm obsessed with Maelstrom getting a teeny tiny little jester hat... She's so cute, which is an adjective you wouldn't expect to ever use on a rock!

azurityarts

Azurityarts

This panel redraw using a painterly technique has me shooken to my core. And the opal, pearlescent lighting makes Requiem look so dreamy and wonderful, it's so pretty! I love zooming in on this piece and picking out the details, that's one of my favorite parts of looking at paintings in real life, and that delight is emulated so well in this digital piece!

King Pika

Pika

Fellas, I need to know... Is it gay to hang out blushing with your gal pal next to a natural wonder? A piece that originated on Art Fight, now here for you all to look at with your eyes! The colors on this are absolutely stellar, and the way the water flows out from the bottom of that fountain looks like it'd be so fun to ride around on... I mean, you'd probably get pummeled once you reach the bottom, but it looks so satisfying, doesn't it?

starbland

... Your eyes widen in horror as you begin your plummet, you want to scream, cry, or just say anything at all, but your mouth is paralyzed with fear, along with the rest of your body. The closer the lake gets, the faster your heart pounds. Thunder and lightning deviously crackle in the air, perhaps a cruel reminder of your certain doom.

“You appear to be… lost.”

This reimagining of OBT's prologue brings beautiful prose from second-person perspective as you put yourself in our protagonist's shoes for a moment as you plummet to your doom! I could honestly drink up a whole novel's worth of this writing, it's so fun to read!

theconfusedanimal

Theconfusedanimal

The poses on these two are just SO adorable, I could totally see Dielle trying to teach Rune some cute poses! This style is also so smooth and nice, it's super cute with those vibrant colors!

primarinite

Primarinite

So let me just gush for a moment about the lighting on this one, because it looks amazing! I'm always a sucker for contrast between glow and shadow, and I love the moody tones that this piece sets! Also not sure if y'all can tell I really like blue and yellow hehe, but it looks exceptionally good here!

MyPencilDraws

Feel the Ley Lines

I loved seeing this scene from Chapter 6 interpreted in this piece, which shows off the sheer amount of ley lines that course through the dungeon! And do I spot the glow of the Perfect Apple tree in the distance over there? Also just wanted to say I love that the apples also get to glow as well! It's only touched on briefly through other parts of OBT, but plants like the apples in Apple Woods grow almost instantly with the help of ley lines, so Rune could definitely feel their glow with her stair sensor ability!

ComicsGalaxy

You know how in the wild, animals that are poisonous have some of the most vibrant colors? Because you can really feel that with Julius here in this beautiful piece! Only in recent years have I began embracing more saturated colors in pieces, but this takes it to a whole other level entirely!

Velvet-Rainbow

On Borrowed Time [Fan Art Feature]

I've always admired this painterly style, and it was so incredible seeing this piece entered into the feature! It has such an amazing, ethereal and dreamy quality, Rune and Requiem look so beautifully drawn! Requiem here really reminds me of a night light, oddly warm and comforting, while also highlighting ominous shadows lurking around the corner...

Flavia-Elric

OBT Fan Art Feature

Another full cast piece, and I absolutely adore how cute everyone looks here!! This style of rendering has always been so impressive to me, with such soft looking lineart and vibrant colors! Everyone really looks like they're at their best here, they look so amazing!

reisszaehne

On borrowed Time

I love all the creativity that comes with reflections, and this is no exception! It's so fun seeing the callback to Rune's design pre-aura, and how far she's come with the friends she's made along the way! Watercolor is always such a treat to see, and the pinks and blues really work together here harmoniously!

... Which just leaves the features that will be sharing space in the 4x4 grids! I'll be honest, I was really tempted to give all of them their own full-page feature... But I don't want the book to cost more than it already will in materials, haha (full color print-on-demand books aren't cheap)! As a compromise, I've decided to give each piece their own full-page feature in the digital version! Now without further ado, here are the rest of the submissions!

MrnNostalgic

Obt C 2

I love how chill Rune looks in this! She's really gonna need some time to just kinda vibe out after the events of Chapter 6, haha

GlacialDusk

Team Maelstrom

Eee I love how the team just looks ready to rumble here! Rune's little foxy face here is so cute, I just wanna pinch that cheek fluff aaaaaa <3

Gator-The-Greater

Now, if you'll excuse me...

More Grovyle? More Grovyle! I love that this handsome little man is getting some attention even though he hasn't shown up much yet! I love the coloring on this so much, I just wanna eat it...

DuneLeaf

BUBBLES

MY BOY IS SO HAPPY, just look at that smile!! I saw this one while I was at work and one of my coworkers asked me why I was smiling so big, it's such an infectious and cute expression! The painting of the beach is also so lovely, it looks so relaxing!

Dragoneevee101

On Borrowed Time Fanart

I gotta say I am OBSESSED with the lighting on Rune's eyes and Requiem's gem here!! It's such a fun way to draw your eye through the composition, not to mention I'm just obsessed with bright pink in general! Such a fun and mysterious vibe!

Eeveeluna

Funny Eyed Guys

This was the first submission for the Fan Art Feature, and I gotta say, I was FLOORED by how quickly this piece was uploaded! Less than a day!!! And I love how the shading is rendered on this so much, not to mention with such a pretty abstract background! I wonder what else these two have in common besides eye color...? :3c

RJamesSE

Let The Training Begin!

Inigo looks SO intense here, I bet he'd love to see himself portrayed in such a cool way! I love the creative lettering on this one, it reminds me of something like an album cover! And of course, I'm always a sucker for colored lineart.

Iibui

Iibui

The vaporwave colors on this are absolutely stunning, it sets such a melancholy mood for the piece! And the little constellations around the moon, it's such a fun and creative idea! I can totally imagine this as part of a anime-styled credits theme.

InkyWolfz

PMD On Borrowed Time

I'm in love with how glowy Malachi is in this piece! I actually struggle with Malachi's glowing effects sometimes, but this is such a cute way of doing it and it looks so nice! And it's paired with such a cute little border, it's a fun and creative way of fitting the print ratio! I wonder what they're talking about?

This is also the first of four total landscape-oriented pieces that'll be able to share a grid together! It works out perfectly that way, huh?

kit-screams-into-the-abyss/kitty5730

RUNE AND DIELLE RUNE AND DIELLE (fanart)

These two goobers are SO cute here, I love how adorable your style is! The coloring is also so fun and poppy, this would be so cute to have as a poster! I can tell a lot of effort went into this aaaaa! Also no need to worry about Inigo, he's (probably) fine uwu

Gator-The-Greater

Gator-The-Greater 1

Another piece making a return from Art Fight, it has such a mysterious vibe! I love how Requiem echoes through the fog in such a ghostly manner, it looks like it could even come from one of Rune's dreams!

Lynxflame

Lynxflame

Everyone's favorite mysterious dream guardian looks so spooky and ominous here, I love the almost dragonic vibes she gives off! Also would it be weird to say I love Rune's leg shapes here? Just something so satisfying about them, it really wants to make me capture that energy! I'm sure Requiem totally doesn't have any sort of devious plans here.

rowanlitwik

“I hope you know that this is completely ridiculous.”

Inigo shook his head as Rune smiled.

“A bet is a bet, Inigo. You can’t just back out now.”

Inigo sighed, and then picked up a book, Last Call of the Wild.

“That’s the last time I’m ever going easy on you in a battle ever again… And it’s definitely the last time I’m making a bet with you.”

Oh my gosh this idea is SO CUTE. Those of you who follow OBT's askblog might know Last Call of the Wild is Inigo's favorite book series, and making (and subsequently losing) a bet with Rune is so in character for them.

rusty-eevee

Rusty-eevee

I will not get over how sad Dielle looks here, someone get this girl a hug!! You can really feel the weight of expectations on her shoulders here, especially with her parents looming distantly over her!

thederpiestcloud

Team Maelstrom!

This is such a cute shot of the team, it looks like they could be on a book cover together! I love the subtle blue glow here reflecting on everyone, it gives the Time Gear such a mysterious vibe! And I love Inigo's little claws... I want to hold them

RJamesSE

Team Taiyo!

A floating city?? A new team coming along to show up Team Maelstrom?? Sign me up! Team Taiyo has such fun and unique designs, I wonder how everyone will get along? (Inigo would absolutely try challenging at least one of them in battle lmao)

PotatoChipFury

Underneath the Surface

Don't make a Sans joke, don't make a Sans joke, don't make a-

Jokes aside, this is such a creative way to fix the piece's ratio without compromising the original idea! I wonder what else Rune and Malachi have in common...? Legend has it that there's an easter egg on this piece, but I have yet to find it. Head on over to see if you can find it before I do!

RazorFangz

On Borrowed Time

Eye buddies! Eye buddies! Eye buddies! Aside from Requiem's SUPER pretty sparkly tail and the wonderful expressions these two have, I am absolutely loving the theory presented in the piece's description!!! Please go look at it and also this art, because both are fun and amazing!

OhMyGosh13

RequiemFinal

Ok just wanna put it out there, we technically haven't seen Requiem asleep yet, so there's nothing saying they don't sleep upside-down like a bat! I also love that their claws look like they're forming a little heart shape, it's so cute! How many pull-ups do you think they can do before getting tired out?

PopMordiscos1

Seconds before disaster(ver1)

If Rune were in a Marvel movie she'd say something like "He's right behind me, isn't he?" right here. Jokes aside, Dusknoir here looks so ominous with that glowing! I would probably be so freaked out if I saw that that I'd just die on the spot lmao!

TheSuperiorNut

Malachi and Rune

Team selfie time at poison city! Malachi is so adorable here, I'm so tempted to give him a high-five back. It's so fun seeing Malachite Falls make an appearance in a fan art, and the detail on that bridge is so pretty!

Spiritofrainbursts

A New Dawn (Fanfic in Description)

I talked about this piece already in the section for winning pieces, but for the book the art will get to be in the 4x4 section as well so folks can get a good look at the piece on its own!

thederpiestcloud2

Maelstrom's Champion

My champion, you have such a pretty blue aura! Maelstrom and Malachi are so cute here together, I can really imagine she's keeping his spirits up with some friendly words. She has a way of really lighting up his life! (Get it? Because- because she glows-)

Ayrtyo

Hangin' Out at Dusk

Aight I dunno WHAT Malachi said here, but Rune could at least give him a courtesy chuckle, right? Even just a smile? No? The colors on this are so pretty, it looks like such a cozy summer evening!

drakya222

Plushies!

This is SO CUTE I squealed when I saw it. I already love plushie aesthetic, and I too would want to cuddle a cute little Rune plush! Just be careful or she'll hit you with ice... Or maybe plastic beads? I think that would hurt more.

WizardandGalaxy

Requiem

Requiem looks so soft and colorful here, the pearlescent shine on them looks so fun! And I still love how swoopy their arm tassle things are, I just wanna swirl it around on my finger aaaaa! This looks like a face you'd trust your aura with, right?

Yakitarou

Team Base

THEY ARE SO SMALL AAAAAA, look at how cute these two are!! Honestly it reminds me of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, which is one of my favorite series! I just wanna pinch their little cheeks, they're both so adorable!

NeptunesBox

Selfie Time!

And last but definitely not least, a selfie from Yohann and his third-wheel off to their first date, moments before disaster! My partner said she likes to think those birds are coming to attack and/or carry Azrael away, which I think would be a pretty epic nuzlocke death. I already said on Tumblr but I love Azrael's face so much here. He's already offended and they haven't even gotten to the cafe yet.

And once again, thanks so so much to everyone who participated! I'm excited for us to continue our journey through the rest of On Borrowed Time together!

Hey all! I'm happy to announce that OBT's first book, On Borrowed Time: Born Yesterday has been completed, as of last night! I'm really excited to have made it this far with the comic- and even more so that I finally surpassed where I ended OBT's preboot! I'll post more details about the book once we're closer to printing (around mid-October), but the book currently spans the prologue of the comic through the end of Chapter 6- which will finish posting publicly in December! I also have compiled an extra art section, concept art, and some fun author notes and trivia in the end of the book, which I hope you all will enjoy when the book comes out. The book will have both a physical version and a digital PDF version! I've been amazed at the following OBT has garnered over the years- what started out as a silly little fan project to pass the time in high school really became a passion throughout college and now through my career, and it feels so special having been able to connect with so many fantastic people with this project. To celebrate the amazing community of fans and readers, I wanted to include a fan art feature in the physical and digital copies of the book! The Fan Art Feature will be a little gallery in the back of the book, with a compilation of art submitted by readers! Due to physical limitations surrounding printing, the canvas size for all submissions will have to be a bit rigid, but I hope that the other rules implemented provide a bit more freedom! The top 10 submissions (judged by yours truly) will receive full-page features, and all other submissions will be featured on a 4x4 grid with other submissions. The top 3 submissions will get the prizes listed below, and all submissions will receive a digital version of Born Yesterday! (This means that anyone who submits a piece to the Fan Art Feature will be able to read the end of Chapter 6 about 2 months before it goes out publicly!)

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 PM PST, October 10th 2022. Digital prizes will be distributed October 12th, which is also when the digital PDF of the book will become available and physical copies will be ordered. Read on to the rules below!

Rules

- All submissions must be 1375 x 2100 pixels, or any larger variation of that ratio (such as 2750 x 4200 px). Having the correct scale for your piece is the most important part of the fan art feature, since it determines whether or not your piece can be printed! Pieces that don't follow this layout will be ineligible for the fan art feature (but will still be loved and appreciated by me <3) - It is also highly recommended that the DPI (dots per inch) of the piece is set to 300 for optimal printing with the physical copy. There are tutorials online if you need help figuring out where this setting is in your program! (Pieces that don't follow this will not be excluded from the fan art feature, but they may appear blurry in printing.)

- OR... Short written and prose submissions can also be accepted! Written submissions must be between 100 and 450 words (with maybe some wiggle room a few words below or above that) to be eligible for physical printing. Submissions of up to 1000 words are eligible for inclusion in the digital version of the book.

- OR... Traditional art or pictures of crafts (like sculpture or knitting) are also accepted! Just make sure the cropping of scans/pictures taken of the art adheres to the guidelines above.

- Art must include any of OBT's characters and/or locations in order to be eligible!

- Art may include your own characters, or characters from other comics with the express permission of their respective artists. Design alterations and species swapping (including gijinka/human forms) is also okay!

- Art may not include themes of: Gore, NSFW themes (such as sexual content or niche/kink), romantic implications of adult and minor characters (characters such as Inigo and Malachi are minors- Rune, Dielle, Yohann, and most NPCs are adults), or hate speech.

- It is recommended that pieces have a background! Any pieces that have a transparent background will be given a simple color background in the print version made by yours truly.

- It's totally fine to submit previously made fan art! To be eligible, pre-existing fan art must be reconfigured to the standards above. - Multiple submissions is also fine, but only one submission per person will be eligible for a full-page feature. All other submissions will go into the 4x4 grid format. Maximum of 3 submissions per person.

- By participating you confirm that you are of 18 years of age or otherwise have permission from parents or guardians to participate in the contest. Written consent of parents or guardians is required for winners of physical prizes to receive their prizes in the mail.

- Winners will be selected based on creativity and effort, rather than quality of art!

- Winners will be DM'd with details on how to receive their prizes, including any forms related to receiving packages for participants under 18. Prizes can be shipped internationally, and I will cover any shipping fees!

- 10 participants will be selected to have full-page features in the book! All other participants will share a page in a 4x4 format with other participants. Written submissions not selected for full-page features will have a quote selected to fit within these grids for the physical prints, with their full version being featured in the digital copy.

- Art featured in the Fan Art Feature will have, by default, your username as credit. If you would like to use a different art handle, be sure to mention it in the description of any submissions!

Please mention my account in all submissions to ensure I see them, or post a link to them in the comment section below! If your submission is accepted, it will be put in my "Book 1 Fan Art Feature" collection which can be found here.

Hey all, I wanted to announce that my long national nightmare is over! Which is to say, I've finally completed editing page ratios on Chapters 1-3 for OBT! For those who haven't been keeping up or are generally curious on what I mean, for the beginning of OBT pages had a size ratio I selected mostly on a whim, with transparent panel gutters, a sort of hobbled-together text bubble brush, and no regard for potential trim/book binding safety areas in the event I ever printed the comic. This format was fine for digital uploads, but not very print-friendly! So since last winter, I've been converting pages to something more print-friendly, and updating text bubbles while I was at it (the original text bubbles were sometimes incompatible with the new size ratio, and I wanted to keep the comic looking consistent to keep it brief). Originally these edits were gonna just be for OBT's future print run, but I decided to upload them on DA since the text is more easily readable and generally (in my opinion) looks nicer! Or to explain with a visual, here's the before and after of me editing the ratio for Chapter 1, Page 8!

Ratio Comparison

You can see that along with the aforementioned changes, I also extended the last panel on the page and modified some dialogue slightly to fit how characters were written later in the comic, and also so the words would fit nicer into text bubbles.

Some pages needed more modification than others (especially text-heavy pages), but for the most part things with the story were kept the same. But some of you might be interested in the dialogue changes and such, so here's a handy list of what all got changed! Most things are very minor dialogue changes, like swapping one word for a very similar one or just tweaking dialogue to fit with a character's personality better. Other changes that are notable but don't impact the story will be listed as minor in the list, and changes that impact the story much more are listed as major. I've also linked these important pages on the journal in the list below (which might not work on mobile because DA is Like That) for ease of access. That said, there are no plot-breaking changes made to the comic at all- just things that might help new readers get a quicker grasp on the story, as well as minor tweaks made from audience feedback after the pages were live.

Overall - Modified text bubbles to be consistent across the story - Modified Maelstrom's dialogue bubbles to be consistent across the story

- Modified panel gutters to be consistent across story

- Cropped some panels to maintain ratio - Modified chapter cover text to be consistent across story

Chapter 1 Page 02 (Major) - Modified footprint sentry dialogue to clarify what the sentries were confused about with Malachi, Malachi's dialogue also modified to reflect this Page 04 - Modified dialogue in panels 2 and 3

... And that's all the changes! If it seems like a lot that's uh, because it kinda was! But it was nice to have a task to work on during my downtime between resting my hand from mild carpal tunnel, and now I don't know what to do with myself now that I have free time. (The answer is get back to cranking out more OBT pages lmao)

I like to keep old art as accessible as possible, so I've also uploaded the old versions of the pages onto my stash! You can view them below by chapter, and see them all in their unfiltered glory. Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 (And if you see any typos in chapters 1-3 as a result of me not double checking my work when re-typing dialogue, plese let me know!)

Hey there, just wanted to let y'all know about some new mirrors for OBT! I'll still be posting on DA since I haven't been attacked by enough bad features to make me quit, but I know some of y'all would prefer not to use this site and would like some alternatives. So here they are!

New Mirrors:

Buzzly: https://buzzly.art/~Wooled

Folks aren't wrong when they say that Buzzly is probably the closest thing we have to old DA! It's pretty much a perfect site, but my transition to using it will be slow for one glaring reason- the inability to schedule posts ahead of time. Many of you probably know by now, but I live almost exclusively on scheduling systems to get pages posted on time and during the day (when I'm normally asleep). It doesn't turn me away from the site entirely, it just means that importing my gallery over there will take some time. I'll aim for around a page a day of OBT!

Tumblr: https://pmdobt.tumblr.com/

Lucky me, Tumblr does have a scheduling function! You can find OBT pages posting the current archive daily until we're caught up, then it'll post at the same time as the main mirrors. This blog is separate from the ask blog.

Other Current Mirrors:

Comicfury: https://onborrowedtime.thecomicseries.com/

What I consider the "main site" for OBT! Has an infinite scroll option which I consider very handy for bingeing, as well as some other handy features (like a cast page and fan art page)! Also just fun because I get to code the site how I want. It'll be getting an overhaul soon, so check it out before the current design lost to the sands of time! (Don't worry, I'm mostly just changing site palette stuff on there lol)

Nuzlocke Forums: https://nuzlockeforums.com/forum/threads/on-borrowed-time-a-pmd-eos-nuzlocke.2091/

I forget to post here a lot, but when I do remember, I have a lot of fun responding to comments left by readers! Though if you try reading any of the archive from here be warned, many image links are broken from me doing work updating page ratios/scaling and not updating image links. These will be fixed when I finish my page resizing project.

Tapas: https://tapas.io/series/onborrowedtime

A work-in-progress port of the comic with mobile scrolling! I've been reading a lot of comics on Webtoons lately, and for a while I discounted how handy it is being able to read stuff on my phone without needing to resize it, and have been (very slowly) converting OBT pages into a mobile-friendly format! I'll make a proper announcement when I've caught up with OBT's archive for this, though it'll probably be at least a few months out.
